CAF starts building rail maintenance depot in Neubeckum

CAF began construction of a new rail maintenance depot in Neubeckum with a symbolic foundation-stone ceremony on 3 March 2026. On about 13,000 sq m it will build a two-track workshop hall, an exterior train-washing plant and electrified stabling tracks; the depot will service the battery-electric trains for the reactivated Münster–Sendenhorst and Harsewinkel–Verl lines. The Spanish group is investing a double-digit million euro sum, complementing the likewise newly built depot in Gelsenkirchen-Bismarck; jobs are not quantified (LOK Report, 4 Mar 2026).
