The members of VR-Bank Nordeifel and Raiffeisenbank Westeifel voted by an overwhelming majority in favour of a merger to form VR Bank EifelLand eG. The merger of the two cooperative banks takes effect on 1 January 2026. Update (2 Jun 2026): The merger has been completed with its entry in the register of cooperatives; since 1 Jun 2026 the two banks have operated jointly as VR Bank EifelLand eG, with the IT integration announced for mid-June 2026 (Wochenspiegel, 2 Jun 2026).
