Neckar-Alb light rail plans Reutlingen depot by end of 2029

The depot for maintenance, cleaning and the control centre of the TramTrain vehicles is being planned on the former freight and container yard. Construction is due to start in 2028 and take about 18 months, with the first vehicles to be based there at the end of 2029; the basis is a planning approval procedure that is still to come. Around 150 new jobs will be created; the article gives no costs. A public information event on 15 July 2026 showed new visualisations and a noise protection concept with a covered track area (LOK Report, 16 Jul 2026).
