DB InfraGO is building a new station in Rüdesheim at the Hafenpark, right by the ship landing stages, with two outer platforms of 210 m each and ramp access; it replaces the old station, whose facilities are to be dismantled later. Works were expected to start on 9 February 2026 (foundations first, platform construction in summer), and the station is to open when the general renovation of the right-bank Rhine line ends at the end of 2026. The date is a placeholder for the end of 2026. Announced on 4 February 2026 (LOK Report, 4 Feb 2026). As of 20 Aug 2026: Since late April 2026 DB InfraGO has been using a bored-pile rig to sink more than 500 foundation piles for the two 210 m outer platforms; preparatory work had begun in February 2026. The platforms are up to 3.75 m wide and 55 cm high, reached by stairs and ramps, with natural-stone cladding. Opening is still planned for the timetable change in December 2026; funding comes largely from the federal government, and transport minister Mansoori visited the site on 19 Aug 2026. The station is also meant to serve as an arrival point for the 2029 Federal Garden Show; facilities at the old site will be dismantled while the listed reception building stays (LOK Report, 20 Aug 2026).
