Event
On 21 May 2026 the Bundestag votes in favour of double-tracking the Marschbahn (Niebüll–Klanxbüll, Morsum–Tinnum) without committing funds

The resolution notes that preliminary design is complete and asks the federal government to provide funds; a Greens motion to finish by 2035 failed to win a majority.

On Thursday 21 May 2026 the Bundestag spoke in favour of expanding the Marschbahn and noted that preliminary design is complete, with the public participation running since 2021 raising no excessive demands. Rail passengers' association PRO BAHN criticises that no secured funding follows and that the state had to pre-finance the planning. (LOK Report, 23 May 2026)
