Announced on 27 August 2026: PKP PLK has signed the contract for the Gdańsk Osowa–Gdynia Główna section of line no. 201 with the consortium of Unibep (lead) and Track Tec Construction, covering design and construction on 12 km plus 1.5 km of line no. 202 for over PLN 874 million net (EUR 203 million; PLN 1.075 billion gross including options), financed from PLK’s own funds, the state budget and European Investment Bank funds. The plans include a third track, electrification, 40 engineering structures, a new control system, the rebuilt Gdynia Wielki Kack station and several stops, mainly for more efficient freight traffic to the seaport of Gdynia. It is the second-to-last of seven contracts for modernising line 201 Maksymilianowo–Gdynia; main works are to end in 2031 and the contract to be completed in 2032, after which the fastest trains between Kościerzyna and Gdynia Główna save about 14 minutes. The date is a placeholder: the article gives only the year 2032 for completion of the contract. (LOK Report, 27 Aug 2026)
