- The Saxon cabinet adopts the funding ordinance for the Deutschlandticket for 2026 on 16 December 2025
Public transport authorities receive a flat-rate compensation for revenue losses caused by the Deutschlandticket in 2026, with a little over EUR 40 million available. From 2026 a nationwide flat-rate system replaces the previous target-versus-actual comparison, so extra revenue stays with the operators.
The Saxon cabinet has adopted the ordinance that implements the model guidelines agreed in November 2025 by the federal government, the states and the industry. Around 575,000 people in Saxony hold the Deutschlandticket and over 83,000 employees use the job ticket; the price rises to EUR 63 a month on 1 January 2026. Funding is secured nationwide until 2030.
