Furniture discounter Roller, headquartered in Gelsenkirchen (North Rhine-Westphalia), is closing several stores: Husum (Schleswig-Holstein) already in September 2025; Crailsheim (Baden-Württemberg) by the end of April 2026; Villingen-Schwenningen, Reutlingen (Baden-Württemberg) and Oldenburg (Schleswig-Holstein) each by the end of June 2026. Reason: the furniture sector is under pressure from restrained consumer spending; regular review of profitability and future viability. Affected employees are offered vacant positions in the surrounding area. Update (2 Sep 2026): According to an overview by heidelberg24, Roller has closed ten stores within just over a year or is about to close them; the Roller website still lists 110 branches, among them only the stores about to close in Rendsburg, Kerpen and Düsseldorf – the sites named here are no longer included (heidelberg24, 2 Sep 2026).
