- Investment
- approx. EUR 22 million
- Status

On the roughly 30 km line owned by Eisenbahnen und Verkehrsbetriebe Elbe-Weser (evb), hourly passenger trains are due to return in December 2028 after more than 30 years without regular service. About EUR 22 million is planned for the rail passenger measures, around 90 per cent expected from the federal government; a funding commitment could come in January 2028 and construction is scheduled from March to November 2028. Plans include modernised platforms, a new stop at Riensförde, new signalling, two passing stations and works at Stade station; the target concept with better connections is possible by 2030 at the earliest. Funding and planning-approval documents have been submitted. Announced on 23 June 2026; the date is a placeholder: only December 2028 is given, so the end of the month is used.
