Bosch-Siemens-Hausgeräte (BSH) is closing its production sites in Nauen and Bretten by the first quarter of 2028. Reason: under changed economic conditions they are no longer competitive or viable for the future. CEO Matthias Metz: 'After a comprehensive review, we had to conclude that the sites are no longer viable for the future.' The remaining sites in Dillingen, Giengen, Traunreut, Bad Neustadt as well as the Munich headquarters and the development and logistics centers will remain. The closures are to be absorbed by the European manufacturing network. Challenges: geopolitics, weak real estate markets, unsettled consumers, aggressive pricing from Chinese competition.
