DB completes redesign of Kölner Platz at Magdeburg Hbf

Since autumn 2022 Deutsche Bahn has rebuilt the forecourt on the west side of Magdeburg main station to be step-free, and it now links rail, tram, pedestrian and cycle traffic; it includes a lockable bicycle garage with 130 spaces and 39 open cycle stands. The federal government, the state and DB are investing about EUR 28 million in the station's overall modernisation, and Allianz pro Schiene named it Station of the Year 2025.
