Deutsche Bahn has organisationally dissolved the DB E.C.O. Group, its unit for international project business and engineering services, as of 1 August 2026; this implements its DB 2035 strategy, which refocuses the group on its core business in Germany, and it is winding down its global rail operations step by step. Solutions are being worked out for the remaining operating projects of DB International Operations; abroad, only the engineering and consulting business of DB Engineering & Consulting will remain active, and in the German market it continues its offering unchanged. Former CEO Niko Warbanoff steps down on 1 October 2026; the report gives no staff numbers or locations. (LOK Report, 10 Sep 2026)
