On the double-track line between Frankfurt and Wiesbaden, a roughly 1,230-metre railway embankment on a vineyard slope between Flörsheim and Hochheim, destabilised by groundwater flow and vibration, was renewed for more than EUR 30 million. Stabilisation involved about 320 micropiles as soil nails and about 250 micropiles as anchor piles up to 18 m long, plus 980 metres of new retaining walls facing the Main river. The goal was to permanently secure the line's planned speed of 160 km/h; construction ran from October 2016 to October 2018.
