Deutsche Bahn commissions ETCS between Erzingen and Konstanz

On the Erzingen (Baden)–Singen (Hohentwiel) line and at the Konstanz border station, DB InfraGO commissioned the European Train Control System (ETCS Level 1 Limited Supervision) with the timetable change on 15 December 2025. In total, around 60 kilometres of cross-border operating lines between Germany and Switzerland (including the Basel node) were equipped with ETCS in addition to the existing national train control systems. The source does not state a specific investment volume; a doubling of passenger numbers is expected on the Erzingen–Singen line.
