DB InfraGO to restore Holstenstrasse–Altona S-Bahn link with temporary bridges

After defects found in inspections in July 2025, the S-Bahn track from Holstenstrasse to Altona has been closed; DB InfraGO has completed its investigations and considers a partial replacement of the overpasses necessary. From January 2026 track and ballast are to be removed first, temporary bridges are to be installed in the second half of the year, after which S-Bahn trains can run again; the replacement is still in planning.
