Status of 18 March 2026: PKP PLK is rebuilding line no. 93 between Zabrzeg and Zebrzydowice, a section of the main freight corridor from the seaports to Silesia and the Czech border. The plans include rebuilding over 100 km of track and 120 km of overhead wiring for up to 160 km/h (freight trains 120 km/h) as well as new platforms, underpasses and a road overbridge; the main structure is the 600 m railway bridge at Zebrzydowice, whose piers and abutments are almost all complete while the bridge spans are being installed. The EU co-finances the project, which costs nearly PLN 1.7 billion, through its CEF Connecting Europe programme; the work is done by a consortium of Trakcja, Pomorskie Przedsiębiorstwo Mechaniczno-Torowe and Alstom Polska, and it forms part of a PLN 7 billion large-scale programme that also covers Będzin–Katowice Piotrowice and Tychy–Goczałkowice. The date is a placeholder: the article gives only December 2027, so the last day of the month is used. (LOK Report, 18 Mar 2026)
