Status
Completed / put into operation (30 July 2025)

The roughly 8 km section between Zeithain and Leckwitz (Meißen district) was modernised from autumn 2020 to July 2025: renewed track, ballast bed and overhead line, five new rail bridges, two level crossings in Glaubitz replaced by bridges, and about 6.5 km of noise barriers; the line will support speeds up to 200 km/h. According to operator DB InfraGO, both tracks went into service on the evening of 28 July 2025, with the official commissioning dated 30 July 2025. Important caveat: per the source, ETCS equipment for this section is only planned for 2028 — it was NOT yet part of the July 2025 milestone, despite the "(incl. ETCS)" note in the original list entry.
