The He Dreiht offshore wind farm is located in the North Sea about 85 km north of Borkum and reaches an installed capacity of 960 MW with 64 Vestas V236-15.0 MW turbines. It is operated by a consortium led by EnBW (50.1% stake), with Norges Bank Investment Management, AIP Management and Allianz Capital Partners as co-owners. Construction began in May 2024, with commissioning proceeding in stages through spring 2026. Update (17.09.2026): EnBW officially inaugurated the fully built wind farm in the presence of Federal Environment Minister Carsten Schneider; the first turbines are already feeding in power, while the rest are being connected and ramped up step by step. EnBW now expects full commissioning in the coming months, having previously targeted late summer 2026; the date 31.12.2026 remains a placeholder (stadt+werk, 18.09.2026; ingenieur.de, 18.09.2026).
