Münster's main railway station was comprehensively rebuilt between 2009 and 2017: platforms, platform edges (2.1 km) and roof areas were renovated (EUR 38 million), and a new glass reception building with 8,000 square meters of floor space and a length of 140 meters was constructed (approx. EUR 32 million). The full reopening took place on 24 June 2017.
