- Investment

Around the Winden junction DB InfraGO closed the lines to Landau, Kandel, Wissembourg and Bad Bergzabern from 24 July to 30 September 2026 to prepare them for the new electronic interlockings at Kandel and Winden and to carry out track work; the old mechanical signals at Winden are due to be replaced in 2027. At the planned restart on 1 October 2026 the Winden–Wissembourg line stayed without trains until at least 2 October 2026 because of damaged signalling, with buses filling in. The ÖPNV Süd authority has also funded planning for double-tracking Winden–Wörth (4 March 2026). The date is a placeholder: only next year, 2027, is given (LOK Report, 30 Sep 2026).
