Uniper reactivates Happurg pumped storage by 2028, 160 MW

The plant has been on the grid since 1958 but has been out of service since 2011 because of damage to the upper basin. Uniper is investing about €250m and will bring it to 160 MW and 850 MWh of storage; work on the upper basin is largely complete and the lower basin, penstocks and powerhouse are on schedule.
