KVB is planning to extend Stadtbahn line 7 in two construction phases from its current terminus at Zündorf to Porz-Langel, potentially connecting to a new Rhine crossing toward Lülsdorf/Godorf. Costs are estimated at roughly EUR 13 million (phase 1) and EUR 30 million (phase 2) net. The planning approval process, dormant since 2003, is currently being updated; no firm opening date is fixed yet (phase 1 in detailed planning, phase 2 at feasibility-study stage).
