Underground mining-machinery maker Nowomag in Nowy Sącz announced on 15 August 2026 the complete liquidation of its 50-year-old plant, employing around 150 people, by the end of 2026, with production expected to halt already in August. The closure reflects the structural decline in demand for underground mining equipment amid the energy transition.
