- Project

- Investment
- approx. EUR 19 million (federal government and DB)
- Status
- In operation since 12 January 2026 (remaining and dismantling works to follow)
On 12 January 2026, DB commissioned a new electronic interlocking at Reichertshausen, which replaces a relay interlocking from 1986 and is controlled from the Munich operations centre. The federal government and DB invested about EUR 19 million over a construction period of just under a year; signals, cabling, point machines, telecommunications and power supply were renewed, and the continuous train control system (LZB) was extended. With the extended LZB, the speed between Petershausen and Rohrbach can in future be raised to up to 190 km/h instead of 160 km/h at present; a backup power plant is additionally to secure the emergency supply from the overhead line so that operations continue even if the public grid fails, and remaining and dismantling works are still to come.
