Deutsche Telekom announced on 17 August 2026 the acquisition of Polish fibre providers Fiberhost (open wholesale access, reaching around 1.4 million households across eight of Poland's 16 voivodeships, mostly rural) and Inea (around 300,000 retail customers) from Macquarie Asset Management for approximately EUR 1 billion. The deal turns T-Mobile Polska from a reseller into a fibre network operator. Completion is subject to Polish competition clearance (UOKiK) and expected by year-end 2026.
