Announced on 3 November 2025: PKP PLK has reported the construction contract for rail access to the planned Lubiatowo-Kopalino nuclear power plant. The 32 km Lębork–Łeba line (currently carrying passengers only in summer) is being modernised and electrified, and from Steknica a 30 km electrified new line is to be built to the plant site and to Choczewo; the stations are designed for freight trains of up to 750 m so that building materials can reach the plant by rail, and 115 engineering structures are to be built or rebuilt. The contractor is Torpol (about PLN 1.44 billion net from the state budget) and completion is planned for 2029; further phases are the repair of Kartuzy–Lębork, awarded in September 2025, and the modernisation of Wejherowo–Choczewo, for which the contractor was due to be selected in the second quarter of 2026.
