The barrier-free reconstruction of Bietigheim-Bissingen station ran from October 2015 to May 2017: three elevators were installed and the platforms at tracks 3/4 and 9/10 were rebuilt to a height of 76 cm. Costs rose from an initial 2010 estimate of EUR 3.9 million to a final EUR 6 million, as part of a EUR 117 million station-modernization programme across Baden-Württemberg.
