Federal and state governments fund Hettstedt siding with EUR 23.5m

The federal government and Saxony-Anhalt are providing just over EUR 23.5 million from the Saxony-Anhalt Revier 2038 funding guideline for the upgrade of the Hettstedt main industrial siding; the grant notice went to the Mansfeld-Südharz district on 8 January 2026, and the district is investing more than EUR 25 million in total. In six phases, the track network is to be modernised, new track connections built and six bridges upgraded by 2035, so that firms in the industrial estate can move more freight by rail and new businesses can settle. The date is a placeholder: only the year 2035 is given (LOK Report, 8 Jan 2026).
