Vossloh acquires Australian rail inspection specialist RTI

Vossloh has taken over Australian automated rail inspection specialist Rail Technology International (RTI), broadening its range of rail-condition assessment solutions and its data and analytics expertise. RTI, based in Melbourne, founded in 1988 and employing about 50 people, uses ultrasound and eddy-current measurement to detect internal and near-surface rail damage early; its systems run on road-rail vehicles, inspection trains or test cars and collect data during normal operation as a basis for predictive maintenance. It is Vossloh's second purchase in its digital push after Cordel in August; the report gives no price, and the date is the day of the report. (LOK Report, 15 Sep 2026)
