The Dresden-Plauen stop on the Dresden–Chemnitz–Zwickau line was rebuilt to be barrier-free: tracks, overhead lines and signalling/safety technology were renewed and a new 140-meter central platform with an elevator was built. The first renewed track section (about 1.5 km) went into service on 18 February 2023, with the elevator following by summer 2023. In 2025 the site was further completed as a "Zukunftsbahnhof" with new seating, wayfinding and artwork; the source does not state a specific investment figure.
