Pollin Electronic files for insolvency, affecting 140 jobs

Long-established electronics mail-order retailer Pollin Electronic filed for insolvency on 29 July 2026. Nuremberg lawyer Joachim Exner was appointed preliminary insolvency administrator and stated that continuing the business is the goal; the online shop and the store in Pförring remain open without restriction for now, and wages are covered by insolvency benefit for about three months. Reports differ on the size of the workforce: several put it at around 140 employees (recorded here), while a single report mentions about 250. The family business traces its roots to 1891, with the electronics arm starting in the early 1970s.
