The RRX is a DB InfraGO expansion project creating seven hourly RRX lines that combine into a 15-minute frequency on the roughly 120 km core corridor Dortmund–Essen–Duisburg–Düsseldorf–Cologne, including 15 new bridges and about 75 km of noise barriers. The Cologne–Langenfeld planning section has been completed since September 2023, while other sections (e.g. Düsseldorf, Bochum) are still under construction or in planning. Full infrastructure completion is expected in the 2030s per Wikipedia, consistent with the list's target year of 2030.
