Vattenfall starts offshore construction of the Nordlicht I wind farm

Vattenfall has started the offshore construction phase of Germany's largest offshore wind project with the installation of the first monopile. The Nordlicht cluster comprises Nordlicht I (approx. 980 MW) and Nordlicht II (approx. 630 MW); commissioning in 2028. Announced on 1 July 2026 (start of offshore construction). The date is a placeholder: Vattenfall gives only 2028 as the year both wind farms are due to start operating.
