On 28 October 2026 the ceremonial groundbreaking took place for the privately financed concert arena next to Munich Airport, attended by Minister-President Markus Söder, Freising mayor Monika Schwind and Live Nation. The venue is to seat about 20,000, form part of a campus with a music hotel and mobility hub, and open in 2029.
