thyssenkrupp Bilstein to cut up to 180 jobs in Ennepetal and Essen

Shock-absorber maker thyssenkrupp Bilstein plans to cut up to 180 jobs at its Ennepetal and Essen sites, mostly in research and development; part of this work is to move abroad, while production at the Ennepetal headquarters is unaffected, according to the company. Management points to cost and competitive pressure; the cuts have not yet been finalised, and the works council and IG Metall have brought in outside advisers.
