Danish fish processor Espersen announced on 28 August 2026 that it will shut its cod-filleting plant in Koszalin (ul. Mieszka I) by the end of 2026, affecting over 700 employees; more than 300 received three-month notice already in August, the rest follow in November/December. The company cites declining catch quotas and rising raw-material costs; a second Espersen plant in Koszalin (flounder) remains open (Bankier.pl, 28 Aug 2026).
