Germany: Reiche sends EEG and grid-package drafts into stakeholder consultation

Reported: the drafts include raising the ground-mounted solar auction volume from 9.9 to 14 GW/year, new 'resilience auctions' (4 GW/year 2027–2029) and lifting the grid-congestion-area threshold from 3% to 5%; a cabinet decision is expected soon.

On 20 July Federal Economics Minister Reiche sent drafts for an EEG (renewables) package and a grid package into stakeholder consultation (with only a few working days to respond). They envisage higher solar auction volumes, new resilience auctions and relaxed grid-congestion-area rules; a cabinet decision is expected soon (reported; second source: Montel).
