Announced on 22 January 2026 with the power connection contracts: CPK and the grid company PSE concluded contracts worth more than PLN 46 million (EUR 11 million) to connect two traction substations (at the new airport and at Dmosin near Łódź) to the transmission grid; the line is to use 2×25 kV AC, a standard not previously used in Poland, for speeds of up to 350 km/h. Line no. 85 is the first section of the Y line (Warsaw, new airport, Łódź, Poznań, Wrocław) and is divided into six construction sections; tendering for the 13 km Kotowice–airport section began at the end of 2025, followed on 24 April 2026 by the competitive dialogue for the 14.3 km between the airport and Bolimów with 55 engineering structures. According to a report of 8 July 2026, 19 companies applied in eight bids for it and at most five bidders will be admitted to talks; two procedures for traffic control, telecoms and overhead lines were launched in early July, while the four remaining construction sections are still being prepared. The date is a placeholder: the article gives only the year 2032 for opening, with Poznań and Wrocław to follow three years later. (LOK Report, 22 Jan, 24 Apr and 8 Jul 2026)
