Announced on 23 December 2025: PKP PLK has concluded an agreement with a consortium of Nokia Solutions and Networks, Fonon (a Wasko subsidiary) and SPC-2 that ends a long mediation over mutual claims and allows the GSM-R train radio rollout on PLK’s main lines to continue. According to a stock-exchange notice from Wasko, the value of the amended contract falls to EUR 580 million (almost PLN 2,427.85 million) gross instead of PLN 2.79 billion; all works are to be completed within 34 months of the agreement, while PLK itself gives no details. Independently of this, it intends to put a continuous GSM-R connection into service on about 1,500 km of track between December 2025 and March 2026; the 2018 contract originally covered 13,800 km of GSM-R network. The date is a placeholder: calculated from the 34 months after 23 December 2025 (23 October 2028). (LOK Report, 29 Dec 2025)
