BVG renews northern U6, reopening for the 2027 school year

BVG is comprehensively renewing the northern U6 section: after bridges, stations and the embankment were exposed, the planned repair of individual structures grew into a full renewal of the roughly 70-year-old assets. Because of the extra work and a harsh winter the schedule was redrawn, with trains due back at the start of the 2027 school year. The date is a placeholder: only the year 2027 is given. Cabling, control and safety systems, the last tracks and test runs are still to come (LOK Report, 30 Jul 2026).
