AVG gets EUR 17.3m for Albtal line renewal

The Karlsruhe regional council has approved about EUR 17.3 million for AVG's second package to renew the Albtal line, against total costs of about EUR 23.9 million (federal government up to EUR 11.94 million, state EUR 5.37 million). The plans include 5.4 km of full renewal between Langensteinbach and Ittersbach Industrie, new overhead wire, and points and track at several stations; works are due in spring and summer 2027 and the new rectifier substation in 2028. The date is a placeholder for the substation, and the grant notice was reported on 29 September 2026 (LOK Report, 29 Sep 2026).
