SABIC is selling its European petrochemicals business, with plants in the UK, the Netherlands, Germany and Belgium, to Aequita for US$500m; together with the sale of its thermoplastics business to Mutares the package totals US$950m. Closing is subject to regulatory approvals (SABIC, 8 January 2026). Update (28 September 2026): the European Commission cleared the deal as case M.12513 (European Commission, Daily News, 28 September 2026).
