The court-appointed trustee of Ultinon Motion Poland (formerly Philips/Lumileds, known in Pabianice as 'Żarówka'), insolvent since 15 July 2026, notified the district labour office on 26 August 2026 of plans for mass layoffs affecting 474 employees. The over 100-year-old automotive lighting plant is being fully wound down, following financial troubles at US parent First Brands Group (Nowe Życie Pabianic, 28 August 2026).
