Hochbahn prepares new U3 Fuhlsbüttler Strasse stop for 2029

First works for the new U3 stop at Fuhlsbüttler Strasse begin in autumn 2026; main construction is due to start in early 2027, with opening planned for summer 2029. The planning approval decision is in place, and in June 2026 the transport authority secured about EUR 38.5 million for the stop. About 10,000 people in Barmbek-Nord gain access, 2,600 of them for the first time; 72 trees must be removed for construction, with 62 new ones planned. The project is bundled with a second entrance at Habichtstrasse (about EUR 15.35 million) and the refurbishment of the Barmbek viaduct, which will affect U3 services in the second half of 2027.
