Announced on 3 November 2025: A terminal for combined transport focused on handling trailers is planned in the Westfalenhütte logistics park in Dortmund, with construction due to start in the second half of 2026. Construction and operation are to be run by a joint venture in which Duisburger Hafen AG and Captrain Deutschland would each hold 45% and Dortmunder Hafen AG 10%, subject to approval by the bodies and the competition authorities. The terminal is to be built on an unused site of about 150,000 m² belonging to Dortmunder Eisenbahn and will have four tracks of about 400 m each, a gantry crane, reach stackers and parking space for several hundred trailers; 800 to 900 lorries currently drive to the logistics park every day, and a substantial share of them is to shift to rail. The date is a placeholder: for completion the article only says at the earliest the end of 2027, and 31 December 2027 is used. (LOK Report, 3 Nov 2025)
