DB has been fully replacing the western railway overbridge above Paul-Schäfer-Strasse in Erfurt since 10 February 2026, while the city renews the carriageway and pavements underneath. Trains on the Erfurt–Nordhausen line between Erfurt Hbf and Erfurt Nord were suspended from 13 March to 20 September 2026 with no replacement service. The work is scheduled to run until December 2026; the article gives no cost.
