The Flughafenschleife Frankfurt (Frankfurt Airport Loop) is a double-track, electrified S-Bahn line running from Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof via Niederrad and Stadion to Frankfurt Airport and on to Kelsterbach (approx. 15 km total length, with a roughly 2.2 km core tunnel). The Gateway Gardens station extension opened on 15 December 2019 and cost about EUR 223 million (construction 2016–2019). The line is served by S-Bahn lines S8/S9 and regional express trains.
