Karlsruhe renews tram line and utilities in Daxlanden for EUR 42m

Since October 2024 Karlsruhe's transport company, the municipal utilities and the civil engineering office have been renewing infrastructure in Daxlanden for about EUR 42 million; the tram line 3 section Eckenerstrasse–Waidweg reopened on 15 November 2025 after roughly a year of works. Track and points were replaced over about 4.7 km, five stops were made step-free and a 2.6 km green track laid. The date is a placeholder: most works are due to finish by the end of 2027, with individual sub-projects only in 2028 (LOK Report, 15 Nov 2025).
