Since 10 August 2026 Mainz line 53, coming from Lerchenberg, runs from Hauptbahnhof West through Binger Straße to the new "Münsterplatz D" stop. The roughly two-year construction also delivered wider cycling and pedestrian paths; the source gives no investment figure (Mainzer Mobilität, 10 August 2026).
