DB inaugurates renewed roof of Dresden Hauptbahnhof train shed

DB InfraGO has finished renewing the 33,000 m² membrane roof over the station hall in Dresden after about three years of work; it was inaugurated on 17 November 2025. The trigger was ice and snow damage in winter 2010/11. The federal government, Saxony (EUR 2.91 million) and DB shared total costs of roughly EUR 50 million, and 18 steel-and-glass skylights were fitted to cope with snow loads while trains kept running.
